Dason graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1990 with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) (Hons) and subsequently went on to earn a Masters in International Business Law (with Merit) from the University of London, graduating in 1992.

Dason started his legal career at M/s Harry Elias & Partners where he practised as a litigation associate. After his return from the UK upon completion of his Masters degree, he joined M/s Gurbani & Co and was exposed to a wide variety of admiralty work. He is recognised as an admiralty practitioner among his peers. He has also garnered more than 27 years of experience in a wide range of litigation and dispute resolution matters. Dason has represented clients before the Singapore Court of Appeal, the High Court and in numerous arbitration proceedings under the auspices of the ICC, CEITAC, SIAC, FOSFA and GAFTA to name a few.
